Mr Men and Little Miss in gaming drive

Chorion has appointed specialist licensing agency AT New Media to introduce the Mr. Men and Little Miss brand to the interactive gaming industry

The Mr Men Show

AT New Media becomes global interactive consultant for the brand to secure third-party multi-platform licensing deals worldwide. Platforms will include PCs, games consoles, hand-held games and mobile phone devices.

Bettina Koeckler, SVP Licensing, EMEA at Chorion, said the company was thrilled to work with AT New Media to take the brand “into the exciting world of gaming and interactive platforms to expand the fans’ opportunities to have fun with these beloved characters.”

“It is not often you get to work with a global icon like the Mr. Men and Little Miss,” said Simon Kay, Business Development Director, AT New Media. “There are few more globally recognized characters that span generations, all of whom have become increasingly familiar with the interactive games market. It is high time that a strategic and proactive approach was initiated for the Mr. Men and Little Miss characters within the games market. Whether you are a child wanting to play on your DS/DSi or a Mum wanting to play on Facebook, the gaming potential is significant.”

With over 100 million copies sold worldwide, the Mr. Men and Little Miss books have become a publishing phenomenon. The brand has also sparked an award-winning website, a consumer products line with over 200 global licensees and a hit animated sketch comedy series The Mr. Men Show (104 x 11 mins) which has sold globally. Based on the original Mr. Men and Little Miss books created by Roger Hargreaves, The Mr. Men Show is the first animated sketch comedy for kids.

This deal follows Chorion’s recent agreement with Scrollmotion for scrolling books, the first iPhone and iPod Touch app licenses for the Mr. Men and Little Miss brand.
