Digital Arts has published my feature on Web trends we’re likely to see this year .

Online design is one of the most flexible, exciting and variable areas of the design sphere. Almost as soon as new technology appears, designers will adopt it for commercial and personal projects, creating more elegant rich-media experiences and dynamic marketing messages.

Featuring comments from Splendid, Special Moves, Hybrid Studio, AllofUs, Fortune Cookie, Agency Republic, I explore the trends that top designers think we’ll be experiencing this year in a feature for Digital Arts magazine.

For example many designers will be moving into the third dimension throughout 2009, taking advantage of the 3D support in Flash. So you can expect to see more Flash sites integrating 3D components using dedicated tools for this purpose. As an example of this trend, Agency Republic used Papervision3D and the PureMVC framework to create the MySackboy Generator, part of the LittleBigPlanet game site.
