Wallaby converts Flash to HTML5
Adobe has just released an experimental Flash to HTML5 conversion tool on Adobe Labs, codenamed Wallaby.
Wallaby is an AIR application that allows designers and developers to convert Adobe Flash Professional (FLA) files into HTML5 with a simple drag and drop – quickly and easily expanding the distribution of creative content across platforms, including iOS devices like the iPad and iPhone.
Wallaby is being released on Labs in response to the tremendous amount of customer interest after Wallaby was first demoed at Adobe MAX last October. Adobe is inviting customers to download this tool, try out the code it generates and provide feedback on how they are using it.
The tool allows you to reuse and extend the reach of your content to devices that do not support the Flash runtimes. Once these files are converted to HTML, you can edit them with an HTML editing tool, such asAdobe Dreamweaver, or by hand if desired. You can view the output in one of the supported browsers or on an iOS device.
User response to the Wallaby technology preview will enable Adobe to better understand what types of innovations are needed in our long-term investments in both Flash and HTML5 technology.
