Piers Hampton moves to Prime Focus London
Prime Focus has appointed of Piers Hampton as executive producer in the broadcast VFX and post-production sector of its London operation.
Hampton has a wealth of experience in the long-form VFX space for both television and film. Having begun his career in advertising, he went on to become an essential fixture at Jim Henson’s Creature Shop where he supplied animatronic, CG and special effects from conception to delivery. He then joined Framestore CFC, operating in both London and New York. In 2005, Hampton set up his own VFX outfit, The Bluff Hampton Company, providing innovative creative VFX solutions for HBO, Twentieth Century Fox and Stan Winston Productions among others. With a strong practical background, Hampton is equally adept building and filming practical elements, as he is offering digital solutions.
Some of Hampton’a credits include the Emmy Award winning Generation Kill (HBO), Primeval (Impossible Pictures), Nine (Weinstein Company), The Devil’s Whore (Channel 4), Andrey Konchalovskiy’s Nutcracker and the Rat King, and more recently The Special Relationship (HBO) and Tamara Drewe (Ruby Films).
