Top colourist Matt Turner is to join Rushes as Director of Telecine from August 2nd 2010.
In his new role leading the grading dept, Turner will work closely with awards winning Colourists Simone Grattarola and Denny Cooper, adding to a strong and exceptionally talented team.
Prior to joining leading post company Rushes, Turner worked as Senior Colourist at COMPANY 3 in LA on a number of high profile projects. These included Superbowl credits for Bridgestone Tires (director, Daniel Kleinman) and Coke Zero (director, Fred Goss) and more recently, Travelers Insurance (director, Daniel Kleinman) Kia (director, Carl Erik Rinsch) as well as a move into feature digital intermediate (DI).
Before his move to the U.S, Turner had a stellar 5-year run at Framestore London and prior to that, 9 years at The Mill. During his tenure at these facilities, Turner worked with many of the top commercial directors in Europe including Daniel Kleinman, Peter Thwaites, Ringan Ledwidge, Frederick Bond, Frank Budgen and Daniel Barber, on award winning ads for such international brands as Guinness, Monster.Com, Nissan, Sony PlayStation and Vodafone.
“I’m absolutely thrilled Matt is returning to the UK and has decided to join us to head up the Telecine team here,” said Joce Capper, Rushes Managing Director. “Matt and I have been friends for a very long time and I’ve always admired his work, his dedication and the approach he takes to a wide range of projects and the looks he creates. He is an amazing grader and a brilliant addition to the team here. I just know at heart he is a Rushes person. Matt is committed to ensuring we provide the best service we can to our clients. Those who know Matt already will be aware he loves to work very hard and he likes to have fun whilst doing so. You see, a Rushes person!”
We caught up with Matt Turner earlier in the year to find out his thoughts on grading. Read the resulting Q&A in the Bright Sparks section.
