Digital art for PlayStation from The Studio
Studio Ouptut has launched The Studio, a new digital art store for PlayStation users in collaboration with Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE)
The Studio brings the work of some of the most coveted names in graphic and digital design to the PlayStationStore, with original artwork fully digitised to create a range of downloadable static and dynamic themes for PS3 and PSP. Themes are curated, managed and developed by Studio Output, offering a new platform for artists to showcase their work to the world, and an ever-changing array of artwork for the ever-growing PlayStation audience.
The Studio gives users the chance to customise the look of their PS3 and PSP graphic user interface, using artist themes downloaded from the PlayStationStore. From dynamic animated and static screens through to the icons on their XrossMediaBar (XMB), all content is curated, developed, built and tested by us, using a special type of JavaScript used to build games on the PS3.
Twenty selected artists have already shared their work and had it crafted into themes. Among them are celebrated illustrator Anthony Burrill, the weird and wonderful eBoy, legendary illustrator Jasper Goodall (known for his cover art for Muse) and Rex Crowle, AKA Rexbox, who is one of the creative minds behind LittleBigPlanet. More themes are on the way from the likes of Pete Fowler, Craig Redman , 123 Klan, Tomato and Jonathan Zawada
