A well as some major interface changes, 3ds Max 2010 offers a new ‘Graphite’ modelling toolset and ribbon interface, allows render-preview effects in the viewport, has enhanced OBJ support and introduces Containers and the Material Explorer. It’s also the first 3D app to make use of mental mill.

It’s available for £3,050 plus VAT ; £775 plus VAT (upgrade from 3DS Max 2009) and £1,500 plus VAT (upgrade from 3DS Max 2008 or earlier) from Autodesk
